Our Foundation

Our Foundation

We are in the process of creating a charitable foundation based on one that, our founder and group MD, Richard Alvin saw first hand last year when he attended a Salesfource.com annual conference in San Francisco in 2009.

It is based a 1-1-1 model.

But what does that mean?
  • 1% of the employed time of all staff within the Capital Business Media group of companies is donated and dedicated to charitable activities.
  • 1% of our product or services is donated to nonprofits and charities.
  • 1% of the total equity of all of the Capital Business Media group will be owned by the foundation providing it with a guaranteed source of income to allow it to grant funds and provide financial support for higher or specialist education for those looking to start their own business, but are disadvantaged in some way, either physically, mentally or by their circumstance, making them unable to fulfil this.

The ultimate vision of the Capital Business Media Foundation is to help non-profits UK wide with a special focus on the business leaders of tomorrow through a bold and innovative social enterprise model.

The book Compassionate Capitalism is the first-ever guide to best practices in corporate philanthropy, covering everything from how to establish a culture of philanthropy to how to measure its results.

The book is written by the SalesForce CEO Mark Benioff, the creator of the original SalesForce Foundation that the CBM Foundation is modelled on.

There will be more on this, plus the CBM Foundation will be getting it’s own website in the coming months once we complete the necessary Charities Commission regulatory requirements.
